Obituary of Mrs. Martha Whisler Whisler
Mrs. Martha Whisler born September 23 1839 in Ohio died November 1908 in Lincoln Nebraska at age 69. She married Jacob Whisler in 1857 and lived in Ohio Indiana York Nebraska and North Colton before settling in Sidney. Survived by husband seven children six daughters and one son. Interment at the Methodist church in Sidney on November 9 1908.

City Improves Steam Heat Network Across Business District
The Sidney Electric Service Company has excavated to run steam heat from the power house to numerous business houses including several hotels. A large portion of the business center is being prepared for steam heat, with many residences also installing their own plants.

Postoffice Moves Tomorrow and Theater Notes
The new postoffice fixtures have arrived and will be installed with postmaster McLernon expecting changes tomorrow. Ruth Craven company entertained for three nights, drawing strong crowds and praise for their varied drama. Wednesday marked the twenty fifth anniversary of Mr and Mrs Hall with neighbors gifting refreshments and presents. A shotgun accident at C F Richards home in North River injured his five year old daughter in the arm and Mrs Richards in the foot.

Infant James Harper Dies in Early Childhood
James Moore Harper was born March 7 1908 in Bayard Nebraska and died November 10 1908 in Minatare after illnesses. He was the son of Reverend and Mrs W F Harper and was buried in Sidney from the Methodist church with Reverend H Zinecker officiating. The community mourns with the bereaved parents.

Death of Mrs Cary at Reedley California
Mrs Eliza S Cary aged 90 years and 6 months died Tuesday October 27 1908 at Reedley California. Widow of Reverend J R Cary she was mother to L B Cary and Mrs William Ester. The community holds her in high esteem and her life is described as complete and peaceful. Rev Thomas A King of Lakewood Ohio praises Dr Frank A Guatafzon as a gifted orator with wide reading. A lecture titled Just for Fun is set at the M E church on Tuesday November 17 with 25 cent admission. Ray Wisner of the Bayard Transcript visited the city this week.

Sidney Nebraska minutes from November 9 and 10 1908 show the county board approving bids for Breakneck hill grading, granting road petitions number 180A and 181A, ordering re advertisement for a bridge project at Irving, refunding erroneous tax assessments, and listing audits and allowances for numerous general fund bills including clerk hire, supplies, bridge work, and road labor. The board adjourned to November 27 1908 with county clerk H T Doran authorized to issue warrants.
