Shoot Out in Oshkosh Ended With Marshal's Death
A 45 year old Oshkosh gun battle between Miles Margott and Marshal George Albee left the marshal dead and Margott gravely wounded with multiple wounds. The trial in Bridgeport led to a life sentence for Margott, a famed Nebraska naturalist and painter, whose complex legacy divided the town.
