Power System Bids Ordered by Sidney City Council
Sidney city council authorized the city manager to advertise for bids on equipment for upgrading the electrical distribution system. Total spending may reach about 500 thousand dollars after an engineering study, with likely tie in to the Bureau of Reclamation grid rather than expanding the municipal plant. The council also called for bids on a new street sweeper, a year’s gasoline for city vehicles, and light bulbs. A proposed 10th and 11th Avenue speed limit raise from 25 to 35 mph was defeated 3 to 2. Ed Bauman and Stan Larambee supported the change. Mayor Bob Hossle and councilors George Elwood and Del Koch opposed. Routine annual audit accepted.
