Pheasants rise in Nebraska with regional variations

O Connell reports record pheasant numbers overall in Nebraska with western areas faring best without much help while eastern regions see growth in cooperative rearing from 25 to 50 projects since 1939. He notes Chukar partridges planted in the west may spread east, mule deer rise in the northwest, and quail and trout stocking efforts reflect diverse wildlife and fishing access between west and east counties.
