Conspiracy Action Filed Against Pair In Stock Sale Case
Cheyenne county court Wednesday afternoon saw County Attorney P. J. Heaton file a conspiracy action naming Jack Karvanek and Juls H Johnson of Lincoln as defendants. The suit accuses them of intent to defraud Karel Kovarik and the Peoples Savings and Loan of Lincoln out of 20 shares valued at 398.68 dollars through false ownership and stock transfer. Johnson, already out on bond in an embezzlement case with Lt. Gov. Walter Jurgensen, was sought for pickup by local authorities.

Nebraska winter wheat prospects fell about four percent in April, from 44 470 000 to 42 620 000 bushels. Only half of last fall s rye acreage may be harvested though rye production slightly exceeds the long term average. Tame hay and pasture conditions are low and May 1 hay stocks were 5 of the 1936 crop. Winter wheat on May 1 was 72 versus 74 a year ago and 82 average. Abandonment of sown winter wheat last fall is estimated at 29. Out of 4 557 000 acres sown last fall only 3 157 000 remained for harvest by May 1. New Filling Station To Operate Saturday
The Sidney Parts and Bearing company will open its service station at Ninth avenue and Illinois street this Saturday. It will sell Conoco products until its bulk plant is completed and plans to handle Standard Oil of California products thereafter. Melvin Peterson will manage the station and a formal opening is expected in about a month with an ambitious advertising push.

Five Taxpayers File Suit To Halt Sidney School Sale
A petition to stop the Sidney school board from selling the Central school building and property to James L Hand was filed in Cheyenne County district court. The six named plaintiffs Roche Abbott Jones Doran Tracy are residents and taxpayers of Sidney and Cheyenne County. Defendants include the school district No 1 and several district officials.
