Former Sidney Attorney A. LaMont Chase Dies in Denver
A. LaMont Chase, a longtime attorney formerly based in Sidney and a prominent western Nebraska figure, died at his Denver home at 651 Madison Street last Saturday from heart trouble. He was 52. After Nebraska University graduation he opened a Lincoln law office for twenty years, then moved to Denver six years ago. Funeral plans were not disclosed Monday.

Wind wrecks church near Gothenburg Nebraska
A small twister demolished the Benner church six miles south of Gothenburg early Sunday. The wind also struck Gothenburg, tearing the roof from a two storey brick hardware building and blowing out many plate glass windows in the business district. Over 40 windows were broken at the high school. A large tree toppled at H L Williams residence, demolishing the porch. The storm was followed by a half inch rain and some hail.
