Military Notes From Fort Sidney and Surroundings
The paymaster arrived from the west and Mrs Captain Haughey left for St. Louis to join her daughter. Recruits for the 21st Infantry are expected at Fort Sidney, with 22 joining four companies there. Lieut Bailey granted four months leave. Col Poland honored with band welcome and five months leave with Mot Springs hospital admission. An inquiry is ordered into low Fort Sidney school attendance. several officers face retirements or incapacitation proceedings.
