Arbor Day at Scotts Bluff Gering Scatters Thousands of Trees
Arbor Day on Scotts Bluff National Monument drew most of Gering and several Scottsbluff residents. Over 2000 trees were planted as volunteers from business, civic groups, and students dug, hauled, and planted across the mountain side under the supervision of Grant Shumway and custodians. The day featured lively work, humorous mishaps, and a shared hope that the newly planted trees will mature to beautify the area in the coming years.
