Relief Funds Lower In State Next Month

Federal relief agent Haynes said Nebraska will receive about 70 percent of expected federal funds for April. He cut his requested $815,000 to $500,000, leaving around $225,000 for end of month balance. The shift signals tighter relief, with groceries likely for rural payments and a shift from CWA to work relief. Snow flurries and mild winter leave moisture well below normal while April showers may help crops unless weather worsens. Cheyenne county reports heavy snows near Scottsbluff as storm risks fade.
