Irrigation Progress In Cheyenne County District Report
The Cheyenne County Soil Conservation district notes that nearly all of the 10,000 irrigated acres use SCS practices, with successful dike construction and farm structures. Pumps line the Lodgepole Valley and Sidney Draw, many farmers securing wells for irrigation. Despite heavy drainage, the valley’s water table remains adequate, and veterans expect room for more wells during dry periods.
