The city has totaled $110,000 in principal payments since acquiring its utility system two years ago. Mrs. John Brown, a well known Dalton resident, died Monday morning at Dalton hospital after being admitted Sunday. The body was taken to Gehrig Funeral Home and arrangements are pending. A fuller obituary appears Friday.

Safe Driving Plea Issued By Sanders
Captain C. J. Sanders of the Nebraska Safety Patrol urges motorists to drive safely to reduce crashes and deaths. February arrests rose 21 percent from January, with excessive speed the top offender at 148 arrests, careless or reckless driving 59, stop sign violations 62, and drunken driving 49. Patrol issued 401 written warnings for careless driving and 1,687 violation or must repair cards for equipment issues. Eight stolen cars were recovered, 801 motorists helped with breakdowns, 392 obstructions removed, 108 accidents investigated, and 47 safety programs presented.

Man Is Badly Hurt In Crash
Sioux Ordnance Depot employee T. B. Manning, 61, was in grave condition after a Saturday night crash during a heavy blizzard near Sidney. He suffered spinal injuries causing complete leg paralysis and partial arm paralysis, with his car leaving the road in a westward slide. The wreck may have been worsened by low visibility.
