District Court Grinds Through Jury Trials In Chadron
In a district court sitting Judge Grimes and court reporter Cary presided. Kirk Duncan and Herbert M. Anderson were found guilty of cattle rustling with the Anderson verdict set at seven head valued at 150 dollars. A civil suit, Sarah L. Scoggin versus First National Bank of Chadron, resulted in a verdict for the bank and against Scoggin, deeming the sale of goods invalid. The Seed and Soil Culture Special, sponsored by the Burlington railroad and the University of Nebraska, will stop in Sidney on Saturday morning March 25 at 8 45. Prof. Lyon and other scientists will lecture on seed selection soil culture and farming under low rainfall, with literature provided. The talks, aimed at farmers, will last about thirty to forty minutes. Sidney is the only stop between Alliance and Sterling.
