Eighteen members of the Sidney rifle club attended the weekly shoot in the basement of the old John Deere building Tuesday evening. Melvin Sweet set a new indoor record of 191 points with a 22 rifle at 50 feet, beating the previous 189 by Heinie Bauman and Ernest Nelson. The club will shoot regularly on Tuesday evenings at 17:30, meet Monday evenings in Union Pacific hall, and hold an outdoor 22 calibre shoot at 100 yards Sunday, March 16, in the Olson pasture near the country club.

Favorable February and early March weather brought crowds to the Sidney Country Club. Raymond Goodale, 18, was killed when a car driven by Dale Chambers, 16, struck him while intoxicated.
