The 16 well Maley Field five miles south of Sidney produces 659 948 barrels in 1956, up from 18 734 in 1955, lifting the field to fourth in county oil history. Nebraska crude totals rise 35 percent to 16 494 788 barrels with 45 068 barrels per day on average. State reserves are estimated at 93 million barrels, ranking 17th nationally.

Frank Lippstrew 68 Dies in Denver Rites Friday
Frank Lippstrew 68 of Dalton died Monday in a Denver hospital after surgery. He had led Cheyenne Cante rs for 56 years and farmed southeast of Dalton. Funeral services set for Friday 2 PM at Gehrig and Son with Rev. Donald Peterson officiating. Burial Greenwood Cemetery. Survivors include his wife Nora two children Vina Cobb and Dale seven grandchildren two sisters and three brothers.

Lipke Farm To Host Countywide Mulch Demonstration
The Ed Lipke farm four miles north of Sidney on Highway 19 hosts the first large scale stubble mulch demonstration of the year next Tuesday March 19 at 1 30 p m. Sub tillage equipment wide sweeps and grain drills for heavy residues will be shown with several dealers and speakers including Charles Fenster and Eugene Solomon. Don Rapp notes ACP cost sharing applications for 25 000 acres have been received and the signup deadline is April 1.

Funeral set for 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Nampa. Survivors include wife Ruth two daughters Hazel and Ruth two sons Wayne and Roy both of Nampa two sisters Mrs Jorgenson and Mrs Raymond Scott of Los Angeles and brother Arthur.

Vigilante Capture Ends Lodgepole Break-In Attempt
Two Louisville men Ernie Lynch 28 and James West 32 were trapped by Lodgepole residents and a citizen-lawman duo before police arrival. Lynch and West face multiple charges for breaking and entering and robberies at local businesses including Harley's Steak House and Farmers Co-op. Two women, Mrs Shirley Tuggle and another, were also arrested as the incident prompted home made burglar alarms and detentions.
