Sidney tax debate ties valuation to levy and growth
The piece argues that Sidney’s low levy hides inflated valuations, doubling property values years ago to cover city needs. It compares valuations and levies with Scottsbluff and Gering, contending high valuations inflate taxes while claiming the lodge pole plant sale would spur growth and lower taxes, versus stagnation and higher taxes if sales are blocked.
