The piece argues Sidney’s tax rate at 189 mills sits below many Nebraska cities, though taxes rise with state, county, school, bond, and city levies. It cites Gering at 261 mills and Scottsbluff at 2045 mills, with others like Seward 102.5, Grand Island 138.6, and Columbus 151.
