Douglas backs new anti-corporate farming bill
Atty Gen Paul Douglas issued an opinion that Crofton Sen Jules Burbach’s substitute LB203 may be constitutional. The measure bars farming firms with over $5 million in assets from storing processing or marketing agricultural products with an on farm storage exception for farmers. His earlier opinion had found similar bills likely unconstitutional.
