Scarlet fever cases rose again in February after a December surge and January receding trend. State health director Dr. P H Bartholomew reported 899 cases in February, up from 678 in January and 154 in February 1935, with Omaha accounting for 463 of February's cases and 52 counties reporting at least one case.

School Board Appeals After Bus Hiring Order
In Cheyenne county district No 10 the school board appealed to the supreme court after a lower court enjoined hiring a bus at 85 dollars a month to transport pupils to an adjoining district. The county health board condemned the schoolhouse and no funds were available to build a new one. First Six Applications For Old Age Assistance Funds Approved
The first six applications sent to Lincoln from Cheyenne county for approval of the old age assistance committee were accepted Tuesday. The committee approved distribution of $121,929 to 33 counties. Funeral services were held in Dalton for John William Wallick 74 first railroad agent there. He died in Cheyenne where he lived with a son after retiring in 1918. Wallick came to Dalton in 1905 and formerly worked as a dispatcher at Alliance and Wymore. He is survived by three sons including O. D. Wallick of Cheyenne.
