Supreme Court to rehear Cook case of bank fraud convict
The supreme court accepted the Cook case. W. F. Cook, convicted in November 1902 for obtaining money from Bank of Bayard by false representations, has been jailed since. He borrowed 1200 dollars to buy cattle with a secured note and brand. improper branding contributed to a reversed judgment and a new trial was ordered. Also, W Wood sued Clarence Roach and J B Bush for boarding bill jumpers. They were jailed after a trial in Sidney with a ninety day sentence, sixty days hard labor and thirty on bread and water.

Wheat prices rise with forecasts of higher retail wheat costs. top grade may reach 1.50 per sack soon. Rosemont Cafe offers homemade mincemeat.

Brakeman Fatally Injured in Lodgepole Yard Accident
Vernon, a U P brakeman on a Sidney to North Platte freight, fell from the brake beam while disconnecting a lumber car at Lodgepole. The wheels passed over his left leg and crushed his right foot. He was taken to North Platte by train and died the next day after care by Dr. Yarlett.

Little Leonie Oberfelder celebrated her seventh birthday inviting twenty girls to her home where games and a luncheon were enjoyed. Each guest received a souvenir autograph album.
