Masque And Gavel Presents One Act Sociability Play
The SHS Masque and Gavel club under Mr. Richard Muldoon will stage the one act Sociability at the district speech contest on March 14 in Chadron. Playwright Charles Dizenzo also wrote several works. cast includes Ann Elwell Bruce Couch Diane Maliszewski and Donis Wolf in a dialogue driven by temperate, likeable characters. The production trains students in extemporaneous speaking duet acting dramatic interpretation informative speaking and original public address.

SHS students under Mr. Richard Muldoon study blocking staging lighting makeup and debate in preparation for a contest. They mapped character movements including entering departing and center staging while exploring spotlighting and lighting techniques.
Don Kahl Wins Regents Scholarship and Merit Prospects
Don Kahl of Sidney has won the Regents Scholarship and is a National Merit Scholar candidate. The National Merit program is funded by about 690 sponsors, providing 73 percent of Merit Scholarships to date. About 3,000 Merit Scholarships are expected in 1973. every Finalist is considered for a one hundred dollar National Merit and renewable Merit Scholarships for which he is eligible.

Patricia Martens 20 from Chadron High will mentor under Mrs Monheiser. Mark McKean 24 from Rolla ND Chadron State major chemistry will train with Mr Jones. Randy Pollard 22 from Lusk WY Chadron State will assist Mr Nichols in physical education.
