The work, led by Enis Alldredge, used a power soil probe and produced aerial photo maps showing soil types, slope, erosion, and land use. Surveys were done at the request of SWCD cooperators and aid planning by Roger Plantz and staff in Sidney. A Conservaton Needs Inventory for Cheyenne County was also developed in 1959 as part of a nationwide effort.
