Raiders to meet Ogallala in first district game
The Red Raider Varsity Basketball team faces the Ogallala Indians in the Class B District Tournament first round. Coach Joe Folda expects a tough matchup after a 57-53 win at Ogallala earlier in the season and notes Sidney could be champion if teams play to potential. The game is set for 4 00 p m on Monday March 4 with Sidney coming off a 63-53 loss to Alliance.

Seniors reminded of SAT deadline and test dates
Test date notice states Feb 28 is deadline to mail applications without penalty for the April 6 SAT, the last test until June 22. In sports, Sidney’s team lost 63-53 as the JV finished 11-4 after beating the Alliance Bulldogs 6-5 with Mark Rogers scoring 19 and Steve Cook 11.

Les Marcheurs Trek Fraser Snow Scene in February
Twelve members braved four foot snow at Fraser Colorado as Les Marcheurs made their fifth trip February 22 to 24. Of about 31 members, twelve reached Fraser with powder still four feet deep. On February 23 tubing occurred and the group plans in March to resume activities possibly including hitting.

Coed track season set to start with March meet in Sidney
The 1974 track season begins with practice next week and a March 26 triangular meet against Kimball and Scottsbluff at Sidney. Coed program. Cheryl Monheiser heads girls, Dan Garrett assists in sprints and relays, Frank Self handles jumps, Duane Jones and Tom Cotton coach throws. Boys led by Dick Osterday with Welch and Cotton. Yahn freshmen coach with Garrett helper. Osterday cites 16 returning lettermen.
