Pair Injured In Car Crash Near Sidney
A 1949 Chrysler convertible was heavily damaged and two men were injured in a crash near the junction of highways 30 and 19, one-quarter mile east of Sidney. Gaylord Maddox of Sidney and Earl Kenny of Chappell were hospitalized with injuries. The car skidded 174 feet, hit two posts, jumped 40 feet, rolled 76 feet, and landed on its right side after leaving Highway 19 at the Y.

Ross Sentenced to One Year for Child Support Failure
Harry Dewey Ross, cited for repeatedly failing to meet child support obligations, was taken into Lincoln Friday to begin a one year term at the Nebraska State Penitentiary. He was escorted by Cheyenne County Sheriff W. W. Schulz. District Judge I. J. Nisley imposed the sentence.

Four young tourists from San Francisco to New York were arrested in Ogallala then brought to Sidney to face charges of breaking into Model Cleaners. About $750 in clothing was stolen. no money taken. Entry was gained by breaking a back window and unsnapping the rear door latch. Police found the clothing in the car trunk. Suspects Wanda J. Whiteman 18 Rita Label 18 Ernest C. Boston 24 Arthur R. Waldon 20 were identified and held by Sidney authorities with aid from Ogallala officers.
