Wheat Prospects Good in Western Nebraska Amid Light Hail Losses
June 30 outlook notes Nebraska wheat in western regions shows good to excellent prospects with harvest starting in about three weeks. If weather stays normal through mid July, combines should operate across the southern Panhandle by July 18 to 21. Hail losses remain light relative to planted area though Box Butte County reports severe damage. Wheat is being cut in west central Nebraska and Keith County harvest is expected by early next week with higher bushel-per-acre averages possible.
