Doc Middleton the outlaw seeks marriage in frontier tale
A reprinted Omaha Herald item says the famed Western outlaw Doc Middleton pursued marriage after declaring love for a rancher’s daughter. Lacking local officials to wed them, Middleton crossed Holt County to obtain a license, then traveled to the Niobrara where a clergyman married the couple. The note also mentions Fred B. Parsons’ Denver summer plans, rusty needles used by doctors, and an illustrated architectural designs catalogue from William Foster of Des Moines.
