John Edwards of Sterling fired a blistering six under par 101 over 27 holes to win the Fort Sidney Days Golf Tourney at Sidney Country Club. John Kunz of Kimball and Al Hurley of Sterling tied for second after a sudden death playoff, while Don Jorgenson and Del Kiser split medalist honors on the front nine before Kiser won the second nine playoff. Seventy five players entered as flights crowned Ivan Adams, Carl Christ Jr., H R Phillips, and Larry Nelson in their divisions. Chuck Lafler won the shortest drive prize after whiffing on No 1 and placing the flag at the tee.
