Pardon refused for life prisoner William Jordon

Morrill County Loses Two Well Known Pioneers
The deaths of two Morrill county pioneers were reported last week. Mrs. James Finn of the Finn farm southeast of Bridgeport died Wednesday night after a stroke. she was 71. L. B. North, longtime county progressive, died Thursday evening in Nashville, Tennessee, about 62, after 40 years in the Bridgeport area. The body was returned to Bridgeport for burial.

Ancient trick proves ownership of steer in controversy
One of the oldest cattle tricks aided in proving ownership when Alden Cattle Company north of Dalton claimed a steer in Scott Welker's possession. A marked dime slipped under the hide marked yearling, later ear marked by Welker, was removed and used as evidence in court to establish ownership.
