Power outages hit Sidney Country Club Heights during voltage upgrade
City of Sidney crews will shift to a higher transmission voltage next week in Country Club Heights. On Monday June 28 and Tuesday June 29 the area shown in gray will be without power, with specific blocks listed from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The outages will affect Lodgepole Plaza Nursing Home, South Ward School, and homes along 15th to 11th Avenues, El Rancho Road, Summit Drive, and Trail Road. Additional outages are planned Wednesday through Friday in other sections of Country Club Heights.

Five Amtrak Stops Now In Nebraska
Amtrak trains will make five stops in Nebraska up from four. Holdrege, Colo. Fort Morgan and Kewanee added to the Chicago Denver leg serving about 31 000 people within 50 miles. The changes add to the Chicago San Francisco line and increase running time by about 10 minutes.

Administrative Services Director Gus Lieske tells a Legislative Council committee that money for the present state telecommunication system cannot be justified unless the consolidated network reaches all counties. The panel seeks new objectives before any extension decision and wants assurance no contract with NCCC to expand to Omaha and North Platte is planned.
