Federal gas tax included in posted price ruling

Attorney General Sorensen rules that the federal tax of 1 cent per gallon must be included with the 4 cent state tax in the unit price shown by dealers. The price must be a single line of numerals, no indication of price excluding tax, and figures in each fractional element must be three inches high. The ruling amends prior guidance and clarifies that total per gallon price equals tax inclusive. The piece also notes a county board of equalization may cut real estate valuations by about ten percent, with focus on real estate value reductions since 1930.
