Sidney Nebraska Council Votes on Zoning and Appointments
The Sidney council met at 7 30 PM with Mayor Moore and four council members present. They rezoned Lots 5 6 7 8 Block 41 1st Addition from CB to C 1 and granted licenses for Overland Cafe Dick s Electric and Ace Neon Co. They approved several building permits and authorized a new pickup bid. The resignation of Planning Commissioner H G Spearow was accepted and Warren Ellison and J H McNish appointed to fill vacancies. An architect s estimate for the Municipal Building was approved and a payment of 17491 52 to C W Christ Construction Co authorized. The council set a sidewalk assessment plan and board of equalization for June 26 1961 and discussed various paving district assessments and bond calls. The meeting closed with authorization to sign the Christ Construction Co contract for a pump test pit and to accept the 1961 Water System Extension plans and bids.
