Omaha extends civic programs and county notes across state
Rain-soaked week in the Western League standings sets a somber tone as Fremont opens its community playground for the season. Nebraska City advances, grading for eighty blocks of concrete pavement while vandals damage a new $150,000 Winnebago building. Nebraska districts report Rotary chapter growth, water bond ties in Fairbury, and Elks plans for a $340,000 home. Auctions of regional projects include road gravel funding in Springfield and three thousand-pound Navy gun gifts to Omaha Post. Local milestones include a Golden wedding in Trento, a university commencement with 740 graduates, and postwar welfare drives for Nebraska youths.
