The Midwest wheat pool for contract pooling in Nebraska and eastern Wyoming failed this year from inadequate grower support. Officials said fewer than 50 percent of local growers signed contracts, causing abandonment of the 1929 pool. The organization will continue to operate on voluntary contracts and aim for a 1930 pool reaching the required 50 percent. After a stormy meeting, managing director Philip F. Bross and assistant director J. W. Brinton were dismissed. Ernest Peterson of Axtell was chosen to lead.

York Printing Concern Wins State Driver License Contract
State Purchasing Agent Yoder awarded York Blank Book company of York the contract to print 1,610,028 duplicate application blanks and 1,207,521 lithographed license cards for motor vehicle licenses. Total bid price for both items is 8,541.80, about one third of a cent per blank or card. Delivery by August 10 with serial numbering and red county name ink. Driver license law takes effect September 1 with licenses required by October 1.
