A Trip Through the Sidney Ice Plant Era Plant Tour
A detailed visit to the Sidney Artificial Ice and Cold Storage Co. at 609 West First Street. The two story brick building, with a side track and 100000 dollar investment by fourteen proprietors, houses butter making, ice production, and cold storage operations. John Simones leads the firm with F D Woolridge as secretary, noting profits this year as equipment completes. Visitors observe the butter room, churn capacity, ice cooling methods, and storage of apples, potatoes, meat, eggs, and even individual beef or pork. A carload of frozen product was sent to Chappell, illustrating Sidney's growing commerce and modern rural refrigeration.

Clint Andrus Dies by Own Action at Home in Manley Neb
A Manley Nebr man, Clint Andrus, shot himself under his left arm at home. A jury verdict finds the act self-inflicted and not premeditated, though domestic trouble over two years is cited by some as a possible cause. He had been in a jovial mood earlier while playing with local boys.
