Water Works Planned for Sidney With 13 000 Bond

Plans for a 100000 gallon Galion Reservoir on a hill 90 to 100 feet high near Sidney center aim to supply ample pressure. Hydraulic engineer J M Brangle believes a 12 foot diameter well 35 to 40 feet deep can serve water needs, with a 15 horsepower motor pumping to the reservoir. Bond issue of 13000 proposed to fund mains and hydrants for citywide fire protection and self supporting operation in a few years.

Banquet Honors Sidney High School Graduates

Sidney High School Alumni hosted a Friday June 1 reception at the Radcliff home from 8 to 10 before moving to the Pacific House for a banquet. Jeneatta Clark welcomed the class of 1906, Paul Martin replied, and a short musical program preceded a five course supper. Landlord Dunham provided elegant catering and toastmaster E Hiett led toasts including Our Loved and Lost, Mimmers, Ranch Life, Going Abroad, and a speech mimicking Chauncey Depew.

Sells Floto Circus Arrives in Sidney This Weekend

The Sells Floto circus will arrive in Sidney Sunday after performances in Grand Island today. A large influx of visitors is expected in town tomorrow and Monday for shows. Sidney is the sole stop between Grand Island and Cheyenne.

Meeting of Trustees Orders Concrete Sidewalks in Sidney

The Sidney Nebraska Board of Village Trustees met June 1 1906 and ordered concrete sidewalks on Rose Street between Front Street and B and M right of way and on Second Street from Myrtle to Chestnut. Sidewalks will be 12 feet wide on Rose and 12 feet on Second with 4 feet width sections south of Front to First. Committees named for Streets and Alleys Finance Fines and Licenses Cemetery Fire and the marshal appointed street commissioner.

California Limited Mishap At Smeed Neb No Fatalities Reported

The Los Angeles Limited, a west bound Union Pacific fast train, derailed at Smeed Neb fifty five miles west of Sidney at about 1 o clock Thursday night. The engine baggage dining and tourist sleeper left the track. No serious injuries. Engineer C Thompson Fireman Willson slight scalp cut. Wrecker trains from Cheyenne and North Platte built a temporary track and resumed traffic after about seven hours.
