Nebraska Department of Roads says many aging bridges remain sound though narrow and out of date. About 50 will be offered to cities counties and then the public this summer, with some beams reused at Oshkosh Gothenburg North Platte and other sites.

Jack Fate Among NN Alumni Service Award Winners
Four University of Nebraska alumni were honored at commencement and the Roundup Luncheon in Lincoln. Jack Fate of Kansas City Missouri received the distinguished service award for alumni work, with a career spanning WWII service in Europe and leadership roles in Scarritt and Fate, real estate and insurance. He has led the Kansas City Alumni Association chapter and served as national alumni director for the area, while remaining active in civic affairs.
