Farmers in 1966 diversion programs for feed grains or wheat must meet conserving-acreage provisions. Cheyenne County ASC vice-chairman Lester B. Runge notes that conserved acreage equals the farm’s conserving base plus diverted acres, with wheat participants setting aside at least 15 percent of their 1966 allotment. Feed grain leases over 25 acres divert 20 percent of base without payment. Noncompliance could endanger program payments, loans, and certificates.
