Sidney Juniors Fall Twice to Cheyenne in District Play

Sidney Juniors dropped a pair of one run decisions to Cheyenne at Legion Park 2-1 and 9-8 with errors proving costly. Don Zink pitched well, four hits allowed and ten strikeouts in game one, but three errors in the second inning let Cheyenne plate both runs. Sidney tallied six hits, led by Perez, Slama, and Ottoson with two apiece, while Cheyenne benefited from nine errors in game two as they rallied for a 9-8 win. Both teams outhit the other, and Sidney led 8-5 before Cheyenne surged in the seventh. Zink took the loss after relieving starter Herbert in the sixth.
