Adolph Pfunder former Bushnell junk dealer, released from Wyoming state prison after 12 years for attempting to rob a bank at Chugwater in 1921, was deported to New York with a federal officer. His partner A J Kusel died in prison after being shot by police during capture. Pfunder and Kusel cited opposition to America entering World War I as motive. Pfunder had operated a Bushnell junk shop with Kusel to launder stolen goods. Pfunder confessed after Kusel’s alleged death.

Skeletons of prehistoric monsters found near Redington
Skeletons of prehistoric animals, huge in size, were unearthed in fossil beds south of Redington by Bridgeport crews. One skull spans four feet and seven feet long with tusks, another head weighs about 100 pounds, and a jaw measures five feet with long tusks. Mussel shells also found will join a future display.

Death of Seymour P Laing Ends Adventurous Life in California
Seymour P. Laing, born 1843 in Laingsburg Michigan, died Thursday in California. Funeral services were held Saturday at James R. Garlick chapel with burial in Masonic Lawn cemetery. A pioneer railroad man and cattle rancher, he helped drive the Union Pacific golden spike at Promontory Point in 1869 and later ran cattle near Redington, Nebraska, adjoining Cody’s ranch. He also supplied horses to Buffalo Bill Cody’s circus. He served in the Civil War and spent the last 18 years in California.
