Sidney Schools to Receive 120000 More From State
Nebraska lawmakers approved an extra 20 in state aid for local schools, boosting Sidney School District funds by 120000. Superintendent Pedersen noted no tax cut for residents and that budget decisions depend on rising operating costs, salaries, and two Court of Industrial Relations suits affecting pay. The district gets 3035 per student for 1740 students. Governor Exon vetoed a bill to share half the public school funding, and the Legislature failed to override.
