The Sidney City Council named James Edwards Lowry Lindell John Peetz Jr Carl Schmidt and John Egging to a five member Board of Adjustment to handle variance requests and act as an appeals board. Joanne Goodwin was named an alternate member. Egging had joined the board earlier. one member must be from the planning commission. Edwards Lindell Peetz and Schmidt were elected on a 41 vote though Mrs Matzke opposed. City officials were asked to draft a bare bones zoning ordinance to govern board operations.

Tax levy may rise half mill for Cheyenne County
Cheyenne County plans an estimated county budget of 1.7 million dollars for the new fiscal year up 14 percent from 1.3 million. Downtown free parking district faces a vote after business owners petition for dissolution but the council rejects the move 5-2. The Downtown Improvement Board targets August 15 23 to begin free parking operations.
