Cheyenne County Eyes Courthouse Expansion Plans
Cheyenne County commissioners propose a one mill levy to fund a courthouse expansion over three to four years. Aimed at adding 50,000 yearly to 110,000 on hand, funds would avoid bonded debt for a project estimated at 300,000 to 350,000. A public hearing is set for Wednesday July 31 in the commissioners room to hear objections and suggestions. The present 1911 building houses a growing county with crowded offices, jail concerns, and space for records needs.
