Harvest Delays And Yet High Wheat Prospects Across Region
Weather delays harvest across Cheyenne County and western Nebraska as storms and moisture push cutting back. Reports show strong yields with fields in Gurley and surrounding areas averaging 37 to 55 bushels per acre with test weights around 63 pounds. Storage expansion reduces shortage risk while labor and equipment remain plentiful. some counties forecast general cutting to begin next week, with mixed conditions and hail impact noted in several locales.
