County Assessor John Daugherty completes the abstract of assessment for 1911 listing 7,334 horses valued at 413 250, 255 mules at 15 405, 11 733 cattle at 221 275, 2 105 dogs at 12 820, 81 automobiles at 33 445 and 490 dogs at 2 050.
Lewis J. Porter and Julia Harrington of Fillmore Wyoming were married by Judge Gapen at his office. Omar Loeser and Theresa L. Browne of Breckenridge Colorado were married by Judge Gapen at his office on Tuesday July 11th.
Josie Namath widow of Fred Namath completed final proof on her homestead before County Judge Gapen on Monday July 19 with witnesses Mitchell Fusha and William Homan. Gust Erickson of Potter finished final proof before U S Commissioner Oberfelder on Friday July 12 with witnesses Gust Erickson and Anton Benish. John Johnson of Leafdale completed final proof before U S Commissioner Oberfelder on Friday July 13 with witnesses Gust Erickson and Anton Benish.
The Cheyenne county board meets on July 7 1911 and approves C E Goodband bond 25000 for courthouse jail project. They compensate William B Giten 3250 for water main damage and A J Haskell 100 for road right of way. Claims audited include salaries, pauper care and sheriff services.
The Clerk is instructed to return C. E. Goodhand 31500.00 after contract and bond filing. The old jail stone sold to M. H. Tobin for 10000. Tobin must remove items. county retains steel cage and lining until no longer needed, then removal. Ground staking for the courthouse was continued, adjourned to July 13, 1911. Superintendent W C McKeown was in Sidney last Monday. Mrs Grace Chadwell left Wednesday for Cheyenne for a month’s vacation. Miss Anna Gomall resigned from the lunch room at the U P Hotel. F C Letts, assistant superintendent of the UP A R Co, was in Sidney Saturday. H J Roth, assistant superintendent, passed through Sidney en route to Big Springs to cut in the double track.
At the Workmen Lodge meeting James R. Williams received a solid gold Post-Master Workman's badge. Joseph Oberfelder delivered the presentation. The badge, meant for Williams's birthday observance, faced a delay in manufacture before being presented.

The missing Henry Handley from Dalton remains unfound after a week. Mrs Handley considered confessing to murder to draw him back, but that led some to doubt. Mr. Spire and his wife from St. Louis are hosted by L. G. Lowe and wife. Spire leads the Columbia Orchestra, of which his wife serves as harpist.
