Airport figures show private traffic doubles at Sidney

Airport manager Lloyd Carr reports private non-commercial air traffic at Sidney nearly doubled in the past year. In June this year 211 light aircraft landed and 176 private flyers left the airport to do business in town, not counting Frontier Airlines landings.

CAP Inspectors to canvass Nebraska air fields this week

Civil Air Patrol members will survey flying activities at 12 Nebraska air fields in the second phase of a Federal Aviation Agency study. Coloradans Fined in Cheyenne County Liquor Charges

Castulo G. Vega of Fort Morgan was fined 100 dollars and costs for driving while intoxicated. Tommy Perez of Fort Morgan was fined 25 dollars on an intoxication charge. Vega's driving privileges were suspended for a year and he apparently had no license while driving a borrowed car.

Three Sidney Teens Face Auto Theft Charges In Wreck

Three Sidney area youths are to be charged in connection with a wrecked pickup last November. The truck was left roadside south of Brownson, moved six miles to a spot southwest of Sidney, driven over a cliff about 20 feet to land on its top causing about 200 dollars in damage. Names are not released pending charges. One boy is in a state reformatory, another is on parole, the third was nabbed in California while attempting to enlist in the Navy.
