Kindergarten Abolished After Nearly Unanimous Vote
At the county school district meeting held in the courthouse on Monday, voters decided to abolish the kindergarten department for the coming year by a wide margin. The levy was set at 20 mills after earlier proposals reached 25 mills. 126 votes were cast for school board members and 122 on the kindergarten question, with 100 against and 22 in favor of keeping the program. Edward McLernon and J. J. McIntosh were elected to the board. C. P. Chambers and Richard Forrest were not. The term for the coming year was set at nine months.

Senter Payton's Comedy company brings a brass band and top road orchestra to White House Hall for a four night engagement starting Wednesday July 7.
