They believe works could be built in early spring and ore from Custer City Rapid City and Deadwood could be hauled to Sidney cheaper than moving machinery into the Hills. Crossing Buffalo Hybridization Report From Western Nebraska

The city editor of the Omaha Herald extols a Western Nebraska farmers experiment crossing buffalo bulls with American cows. A Lizzard in and Out of a Man's Stomach

Henry Weld of near Camp Clarke on the North Platte suffered ten days of severe stomach pain. A Sidney physician used emetics and a stomach pump to extract a live yellowish lizard about three inches long. Weld recalled drinking from a spring at night and occasionally bending to drink, but does not remember swallowing a lizard. He expressed relief after the extraction.
