Wheat Aided By New Snow

A cloudy week with drizzle and some snow may have helped Nebraska wheat fields. Temperatures ranged near normal to five to eight degrees above in most areas. Damage to new winter wheat cannot be determined yet, but fields should benefit from the snow on open ground. Five of seven days were favorable for farm work. Calving operations began in some areas, and muddy conditions increase care needs. Northeast blowing snow slightly hindered moving feed, with straw and hay limited only locally.
