South Platte NRD swears in new board and officers
Newly elected South Platte Natural Resources District members were sworn in by County Clerk Bob Hossle at the first board meeting. Louis Schamle was elected chairman, Cliff Herboldsheimer vice chairman, Bob Poppen secretary, and Bob Hahn treasurer. Additional members include Kjeldgaard, Kracke, Klingman, Block, Sprenger, Hafeman, Atkins, and Mueller. Al Narjes elected to represent the district on the Nebraska Natural Resources Commission, with duties starting at the North Platte meeting.

Memorial Hospital Auxiliary reports 1974 yearend figures
Edna Hagemeister chaired a Tuesday meeting with seven officers and members. December and November sales totaled 914.54 for Gift Shop, candy sales 7500, with total income 1,056.28 and disbursements 41,446 leaving 1,260.40 on hand. Cash in hand 3,345.12 on Nov 1, donations 266, savings 3,000, Christmas Tea 14.82. Expenditures 3,014.82. savings 6,923.60. 54 associate and 48 active members in 1974, total 102. Two new members joined, and a Nursing Scholarship study committee was formed. The east wing of the hospital was opened due to flu cases. The club observed a Christmas Tea and party with contributions from American National Bank and cookies used at the party. The historian noted missing tea photos, and The History of Greeting Cards was presented by Thelma Ladine.

Board backs Clark plan to merge Nebraska colleges
The State College Board of Trustees endorses SB 128 to fold Nebraska's technical community colleges into the state college system. Senator Robert Clark of Sidney introduced the bill to dissolve the current State Board of Technical Community Colleges and let the unified board set a uniform tuition rate and govern the system.

Theologian Warns Against Forcing Children to Church
