Harrisburg and St Pat's Reach Semis in Lodgepole Tourney
Harrisburg and St Pat's advanced to the semi finals of the Lodgepole Valley Class A basketball tournament after first round wins. Harrisburg defeated Dalton 53 to 32 in basketball while St Pat's beat Dix 79 to 43. In volleyball Harrisburg beat Dalton 7-1 and Dix defeated St Pat's 2-0. Weather permitting the schedule shows semi finals tonight with Lodgepole vs Potter in volleyball and Harrisburg vs Dix. Final set for Saturday if weather holds.

Pheasant Season Closes January 26 Across Nebraska
Nebraska Game Commission reminds sportsmen that both pheasant and cottontail seasons end Sunday January 26. This year features a record-long pheasant season at 86 days with a daily bag limit of four and possession limit of 16. Cottontail limits are 10 in bag and 30 in possession. bunnie season resumes June 1 through December 31.

Postpone Sidney Alliance Tilt Affects Maroons Weekly Schedule

Archers Take 309 Deer During Nebraska Season
Nebraska archers harvested 309 deer during the 99 day season from September 15 to December 3. A record 1,524 permits were issued and the bowmen posted a 20.3 percent success rate. Game Commission director M. O. Steen called it highly successful and noted Nebraska’s strong hunter success ratio. Last deer taken by archers included Stanley Nordlund Ansley mule doe Raymond L Therien Lincoln white tailed buck and Fred Capier Elgin white tailed doe.
