Superintendent Edward Reiman warns the 84 mill levy is unbearable and a failure to reorganize would force a kindergarten through ninth grade setup. Advance Wheat Pay Provision To Be Sought
Representative Jim Battin says advance price support payments to wheat producers have a good chance of enactment this year. He notes Senate prospects have improved and does not expect the new Administration to oppose the bill. The Department opposed it, citing higher administrative costs and difficulty estimating payouts. Battin argues the payments will not raise government costs, citing prior use under feed grain and cotton programs.
